  • 1/4 tsp salt

Optional Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk or lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, powdered sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Mix in the vanilla extract.
    • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, ground Earl Grey tea leaves, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  2. Shape the Dough:
    • Divide the dough in half. Roll each half into a log, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until firm.
  3. Bake the Cookies:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Slice the chilled dough into 1/4-inch thick rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
    • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. Optional Glaze:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk or lemon juice, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies for an extra touch of sweetness.
