A classic, easy, and delicious French Toast recipe for the perfect breakfast!


Ingredients:

  • 4 slices thick bread (brioche, Texas toast, or challah work best)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk (or heavy cream for richness)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional for a touch of sweetness)
  • 1 tbsp butter, for cooking
  • Maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the batter – In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
  2. Dip the bread – Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add butter. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly but not soaking it too much.
  3. Cook – Place the coated bread slices onto the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  4. Serve – Remove from heat and serve warm with syrup, powdered sugar, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.

Tips & Variations:

Use stale bread – It absorbs the batter better without getting soggy.
For extra crunch, coat with crushed cornflakes before frying.
